Norma platí pro izolační objekty a větrní dveře pro větrní objekty, které zůstávají funkční i po výbuchu s tlakem do 2 barů. Větrní objekty jsou ochrannými systémy sloužícími k zajištění vedení větrů po vzniku výbuchu tak, aby mohl být omezen účinek výbuchu na větrací systém a zůstala zachována dostatečná možnost pro únik a záchranu. V ČR lze tyto objekty použít pouze jako doplňkové k izolačním objektům podle vyhlášky Českého báňského úřadu č. 4/1994, která vyžaduje pro izolační objekty tlakovou odolnost 5 barů a 10 barů
